KC Goundiam, Founder, Seventh Bridge

Our Founder

KC Goundiam founded Seventh Bridge in 2024 after more than 20 years navigating the tech industry as a Black, immigrant, French-speaking woman.

Throughout her career, she experienced firsthand the barriers that keep underrepresented communities out of the tech ecosystem.

She saw that the industry routinely engaged six key stakeholders—industry, government, nonprofits and NGOs, investors and funders, academia, and advocacy groups—but knew that too many people were still being left out.

KC launched Seventh Bridge to change that. Her vision is to centre underrepresented communities, including women, Black, Indigenous, LGBTQ, disabled, and Francophone populations, and to build real, lasting pathways into tech. With deep expertise in strategy, outreach, and global business, KC leads this work with purpose, clarity, and lived experience.

Our History

Seventh Bridge was founded in 2024 to break down systemic barriers and create meaningful access to opportunities in tech for underrepresented communities.

In our first year, we launched two programs that laid the foundation for our mission.

The Equity in STEM pilot program was delivered in partnership with McMaster Faculty of Engineering, Cube STEM Camps, and schools across the Greater Toronto Area. It reached 400 students in grades 3 to 12, providing hands-on learning experiences and direct connections to industry professionals. Seventy-five percent of participants came from underrepresented communities, gaining exposure to STEM opportunities that may not have otherwise been available to them.

Building on that success, we introduced Pathways to Possibilities, a program designed for individuals aged 18 and older who are exploring careers in the automotive and mobility sectors. Through expert panels, speed networking, interactive workshops, and mentorship, the program supported 827 participants. Of those, 97 percent identified as members of underrepresented groups.

These programs demonstrated what is possible through intentional outreach, inclusive program design, and real-world connections. They represent the beginning of our commitment to shifting how underrepresented communities experience and access opportunities in tech.

Our Mission

Seventh Bridge is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering diversity in tech by educating underrepresented communities about meaningful opportunities and connecting them with those opportunities throughout the industry.

We work to bridge the gap between these communities and key stakeholders such as industry, government, academia, funders, nonprofits, and advocacy groups.

We are committed to promoting sustainable growth, creating lasting change, and ensuring that the future of tech is inclusive for everyone.
